Material Designer/ Maker
Charlotte Kidger is a Material Designer based in London UK. Graduated from MA Material Futures at Central Saint Martins June 2018.
With an academic background in Surface Design & Printed Textiles and an MA in Material Futures. Professional experience sees work for Trend & CMF studios in London including Colour Hive (MIX Magazine), Chris Lefteri Design, Forpeople & many other freelance clients.
With a process driven hands-on approach to working with materials, she explores the possibilities of using secondary raw materials to create innovative and exciting new outcomes with a core focus on materiality. Using a wide range of traditional techniques and processes, new materials are reengineered and revalued to reveal their future potential and use. All materials and objects are highly crafted by hand with little or no waste and energy throughout the making process.

Worked has been exhibited at Salon del Mobile, London Design Festival, Designblok Prague, Make Hauser & Wirth Somerset and selected as a finalist for the HIX Award 2018, Diploma Selection Designblok & Craeftiga. Featured on Dezeen, Wired, Crafts Council, Design Milk, Wallpaper. Printed in Financial Times, Evening Standard, Elle, Grazia, World of Interiors, Elle Decor India, Living Corriere.
Clients include Selfridges, Seen Displays/ Converse, 2LG, Adidas and Red Deer.
